Kronos bowed fairing mounts 20" inside your trailer at the jack mount, effectively blocking off the airstream from the tires, directing it to the outside of the trailer.
Another important aspect of Kronos fairings is the use of a metal-to-metal clamping system to attach your fairings, eliminating any damage or bolting through the vehicle. Anytime a bolt is drilled through the undercarriage, the resulting vibration will eventually create stress fractures. A Kronos fairing has a life expectancy of 84 months, based on normal wear and tear.
Another key point is the bow on the mounting of the fairing. If you're using
side skirts that just lie flat along the edge of your trailer, you will still experience significant drag from turbulent airflow coming in between the front tires. In essence, that straight fairing will trap the airflow inside the underbody, creating drag unil it exits out the rear.
Lastly, some fairings are made from fiber glass or molded plastic, which are literally rough to the touch. Any texture will contribute to drag, as well as potentially picking up road slush, mud or snow. Our fairings are completely slick, made from commerical grade Olefin Thermoplastic and reinforced with aluminum extrusions at the stress points. Nothing adheres to the surface.
All of the above plus:
We know that our fairings will save you money. We accept all major credit cards or financing options are available.
